SNAI 2026 invites proposals for half-day and full-day tutorials on foundational or rapidly-evolving topics at the intersection of networking and AI. Tutorials are intended to be pedagogical — attendees should leave able to apply a method, evaluate a system, or reason about a research area, not merely aware of it.

Proposal contents

1. Title and abstract — 150-word summary for the conference website.
2. Learning objectives — what attendees will be able to do after the tutorial that they cannot do before. Specific, measurable, and tied to a follow-up exercise where appropriate.
3. Prerequisites — the assumed background (e.g. "familiar with TCP/IP and basic supervised learning"). Be explicit so attendees can self-select.
4. Outline — a detailed module-by-module breakdown with approximate timings. For full-day tutorials, indicate break and exercise slots.
5. Format — lecture, hands-on coding, hybrid, or panel-led discussion. If hands-on, indicate what software attendees will need to install in advance.
6. Presenters — name, affiliation, contact email, and a brief bio for each presenter. Indicate the lead presenter and any co-presenters.
7. Materials — slides, code, datasets. SNAI 2026 requires that tutorial materials be released under a permissive open-source licence and made available on the conference website at least two weeks before the tutorial day.
8. Prior deliveries — if the tutorial has been given before, where, with what attendance, and any feedback worth sharing. If it is new, indicate how the presenters have taught related material in the past.

Topics of interest

SNAI welcomes tutorials on any topic at the intersection of networking and AI, with particular interest in:

• Hands-on introductions to programmable data planes (P4, eBPF, SmartNICs)
• Collective communication primitives and their implementation
• Federated learning under realistic network conditions
• LLM-based tools for network operations: building, evaluating, and operating them safely
• Evaluation methodology for learned network components
• Reproducibility and artifact evaluation for networking research
• Measurement methodology for production networks

What SNAI provides

• A lecture room at UPC Campus Nord equipped with projector, microphones, whiteboard, and reliable Wi-Fi.
• For hands-on tutorials: one power outlet per seat, and a backup 4G/5G network in case of Wi-Fi issues during the session.
• Promotion of the tutorial through the SNAI 2026 website and mailing list.
• Honorarium of €600 for half-day tutorials and €1000 for full-day tutorials, plus reimbursement of economy-class travel within Europe and up to two nights of accommodation.
